Quarterback Anthony Richardson now has big shoes to fill, as he has officially made the switch from #2 to #15. The number is one not only Gator Nation knows all too well, but all of college football: It belonged to Gator Great Tim Tebow.

“I know how much this number means to Gator Nation, especially at the Quarterback position, and I want to be a part of that legacy” Richardson told Gators Uniform Tracker in an exclusive interview. “I know the legacy and story behind it.”

The Gators will sport a new helmet this Saturday against Missouri in The Swamp. The 2019 throwback uniforms return — but with blue helmets; the first blue helmet for the Gators since 1965.

Retro blue helmets will pay homage to the 1963–1965 seasons when Florida wore blue helmets with QB Steve Spurrier rising to stardom. Only white and orange helmets have been worn since that time (excluding the 2017 Swamp Green alternate uniforms), with the famous script Gators orange helmet the primary look since 1979. …

Every year, the Gators designate their top playmakers with one thing and one thing only: the #1 jersey. Since Head Coach Dan Mullen arrived in 2018, he clearly stated “you got to be a baller to wear #1.” Gator Greats such as Percy Harvin and Vernon Hargreaves have donned the number in the past. Now, Jacob Copeland gets to carry on the legacy in the 2021 season.

The senior WR previously wore #15 and served as a top weapon in the Gators…

Florida has never worn this helmet design in school history. The Gators have now revealed 3 new helmets this season; blue throwback helmets against Missouri, new white helmets against Vanderbilt, and now a new blue helmet.

A comprehensive uniform recap from the Kentucky game

Brad McClenny

Florida returned to The Swamp on Saturday to face Kentucky and move one step closer to clinching the SEC East title. It was another great performance from Kyle Trask as he put up 256 YDS and 3 TDs against a reeling Kentucky team. It was also a solid uniform matchup as the Gators went with their traditional home uniforms of O/B/W and Kentucky went B/W/W. Crazy enough, ilt was Kentucky’s first time wearing blue helmets @ Florida in 10 years. Florida’s 34–10 victory improved their record to 2–0 in O/B/W this season…

A look at the new white helmets and uniform recap from the Vandy game

It finally happened. After 4 years of a tapered stripe on the Florida Gators’ white helmet, the classic master stripe takes its place. Florida revealed their all-white uniform combination on Friday afternoon for their game against Vanderbilt, a uniform fans have been calling to see since it last hit the field in Georgia 2018. The uniform remained the same, except for the helmet, which changed stripes to match the rest of the uniform. It was the first time the icy white combination had been worn against…

A comprehensive uniform recap from the Arkansas game

It was a magical night in The Swamp on Saturday as Kyle Trask made his case as the Heisman front runner and the Gators ran wild through the Hogs. Florida picked up a 63–35 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in a strong performance after a massive win over Georgia. The Gators opted for their orange alternate jerseys for the first time this season while the Razorbacks went with their Darren McFadden era inspired away uniforms. The win in O/O/W made Florida’s record 7–1 in the combination and 12–3 in orange jerseys overall…

The streak is over. Florida sits at the throne of the SEC East after a thrashing of the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday, ending a 4 year losing streak in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. The Gators are now in the driver’s seat on their clear path to the SEC Championship game and their ultimate goal; the College Football Playoff. A resounding victory of 44–28 cemented the Gators status among the top teams in the nation. Uniform wise, the game again did not feature the famous color vs color matchups the series…

A full breakdown of the throwback uniforms and recap of the on field gear

Florida AD Scott Stricklin delivered on his idea to wear throwback uniforms every homecoming game when the Gators took the field against Missouri in 1965 throwback (fauxback) uniforms. After a 2 straight weeks without a game, Florida didn’t miss a beat on offense and put on a strong defensive performance. The Gators increased their record to 3–0 in throwback uniforms, 21–10–1 in blue helmets since 1963, 3–4–1 in Blue/Blue/White, and 2–2 in Blue/Blue/White (Circle F helmet decal). …

A comprehensive uniform recap from Saturday in College Station

Florida suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday at the hands of Texas A&M on a time-expiring field goal that crushed the hearts of Gator Nation. After a promising start to the 2020 season with explosive offensive performances against Ole Miss and South Carolina, the Gators fell victim to another disappointing defensive performance to end hopes of an undefeated season. Florida decided to break out the O/W/W combination (more on this later) for the first time this season. In only the 2nd trip ever to College Station, the Gators…
